FREQUENT PROCEDURES/SERVICES/FUNCTIONS:
• Transporting patient.
• Review patient’s medical record and identification band.
• Positioning the patient.
• Placement of “Bovie” pad (electrosurgical device grounding pad).
• Prepping surgical site.
• Aseptic technique.
• Counting sponges, needles and instruments.
• Document peri-operative nursing care.
• Evaluate patient outcome.
• Storage of sterile supplies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree or Diploma in Nursing, and
- Current nursing (RN) license in Canada or the United States, and
- A minimum of two years current experience as a Registered Nurse, of which at least one must be in the specialty area, working in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital in North America.
- Must have current experience scrubbing and circulating in cardiac, orthopedics and neuro.
- Must have both adult and pediatric cardiac scrubbing experience.
