The Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) unit cares for Adult and Pediatric patients on peritoneal dialysis in hospital. The patients and caregivers are educated in all aspects of PD i.e., Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) and Automated Peritoneal Dialysis (APD) to dialyze independently and safely at home. The patient is provided with on going follow-up care. The staff provides support and education for all areas in the hospital including critical care areas in relation to peritoneal dialysis.
Monthly Patient Volume : 150 – 200
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree or Diploma in Nursing, and
- Current nursing (RN) license in Canada or the United States, and
- A minimum of two years current experience as a Registered Nurse, of which at least one must be in the specialty area, working in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital in North America.
