The Physical Therapy Department at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia provides both Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy services.

Types of patients served: Orthopedic, musculo-skeletal, neurological, dermatologial, arthritic, pediatric (congential and development disorders), systemic diseases (oncology), cardiopulmonary, women’s health, and wound care patients are seen in an inpatient, outpatient, home health care basis.

In 2006, the department received more than 40,000 patient visits, and administered more than 80,000 treatments. And it received a 96% outpatient satisfaction rating.

Occupational Therapists provide goal directed and purposeful activity to aid in the development of adaptive skills and performance capacities. There are approximately four Senior Occupational Therapists on staff. The majority of the OT caseload is pediatric patients, (congential and development disorders).

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, and
• Current licensure as a Occupational Therapist in Canada or the United States, and
• A minimum of three years recent experience, including at least one year current experience at a senior level, as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist in North America.
• Must have pediatric experience.
