The Clinical Planning Consultant, Diagnostic Imaging provides formal advice and input into the development and implementation of all Diagnostic Imaging services in the hospital and clinics including facilities planning, equipment planning, department level operations planning, staff planning and development, resource management, financial planning, legal and regulatory requirements, and IT systems implementation. All input provided is based on international best practice embracing the latest technology, service, and process plans.
Job Summary:
• Defines the service model and scope of service for Diagnostic Imaging services at Sidra.
• Identifies “best practice” in Diagnostic Imaging through primary and secondary research.
• Assesses the impact of the current design on expected patient / work flows and defines high level I.T. requirements.
• Reviews schematic designs and develops detailed room design specifications.
• Develops an IT strategy and key requirements for the Clinical Information System (CIS) as it relates to Diagnostic Imaging services - Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Identifies the key regulatory requirements for facility, equipment, staffing, and implementation planning ie. Such as lead shielding, MRI safety guidelines etc..
• Assesses the impact of clinical services “ramp up” on department services (including equipment selection and procurement).
• Defines staffing needs (mix, educational requirements, etc) and servicing options.
• Defines on-going departmental operations including projected volumes / utilization, service goals, service standards, hours of operation, productivity goals, supply chain needs / requirements and information technology needs.
• Develops departmental policies and procedures and produces work flows and forms.
• Develops Quality Assurance and Risk Management programs.
• Defines Commissioning strategy for implementation of Diagnostic Imaging services.
• Determines overall operating requirements including major fixed equipment, and equipment / supplier and staffing level plan.
• Develops education, learning and development documents.
• Provides feedback and input to continued design activities.
• Develops and prepares reports/presentations on behalf of the Clinical Planning team and the larger Sidra planning process.
• Works with other Sidra team members in a positive and constructive manner.
• Provides back up coverage for other Clinical Planning Consultants.
• In view of the developing and changing needs and opportunities within Sidra during this start-up phase, this position may perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Radiology Technology (or equivalent).
- Current licensure with the ARRT or CAMRT as a Radiology Technologist.
- Must have extensive and recent Radiology experience at a supervisory or managerial level in a North American Academic Medical Center
